Assistant Transport Co-Ordinator
The right person for this role will be an industry transport professional who has experience gained within a demanding transport environment, ideally within construction. The right person for this role will be a people-person and someone who has a positive demeanour to allow them to manage the challenges and triumphs this position brings. The right person for this role will have a strong administration skill set as this is a purely office-based role.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Effectively follow the daily plan as laid in place by the Transport Planners.
- Liaising with the drivers and ensuring paperwork accurate
- Ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments
- Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers, communicating accurate load information/directions etc...
- Taking orders accurately and inputting into system
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Attention to detail/accuracy.
- Planning and organising skills, high level of numeracy.
- Negotiating skills, ability to influence and steer.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Adaptable and methodical approach to work/training.
- Conscientious and reliable.
- Good telephone manner.
- Excellent communication skills to deliver accurate information.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office packages.
- The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Able to work as part of a team or individually.
- A flexible approach to working hours in response to business requirements.
SALARY
- £22k - £25k subject to experience
