Concrete Society Award for Portstewart Promenade Exposa

RTU Win Award From The Concrete Society

The Concrete Society held its annual Awards last week and RTU are proud to announce they have been presented with the Environmental Improvement Award for Exposa Decorative Concrete at Portstewart Promenade. There was a total of 2300m2 of Exposa used on the project through two striking colours, Amber Beech 01 and Autumn Sunset 31 (creating the red wave).

The Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council, with support of the Department for Social Development, set aside £1,500,000 for the redevelopment of Portstewart Promenade aiming to ensure the asset is appropriately optimized for both residents and visitors alike.

Designed by Park Hood landscape architects and contracted by GEDA LLP, the iconic promenade has been given a modern twist with a European feel with a beautiful red ‘wave’ surrounded by a golden background which fittingly reflects the Promenades beautiful sea view backdrop. This has been accomplished through the use of RTU’s Exposa Decorative Concrete product which offers not only a strong and durable surface but a slip resistant and attractive finish for all who visit Portstewarts iconic Promenade.

The prestigious project was created in association with GEDA Construction, Park Hood, McAdam Design Architects, Curtis Concrete Solutions and WYG Civil Enginners.

Opened to the public in July this year it has been met with online praise and adoration with many a local celebrity visiting the new walkway and the annual Airwaves concert has been held since opening.
